Anawangin Cove

Anawangin is a cove located in Zambales. To reach the cove, you will need to ride a boat or a banca in Pundaquit, which takes between 45 to 60 minutes. The respective landowners and caretakers manage and maintain the area.

How to Get There

Booking a banka is best coordinated by either being checked in at the beach resort or by being assisted at the port after speaking with the coast guard at Pundaquit port for the booking and handling of baggage.

There are picnic tables available in Anawangin and you may coordinate with the land owner which ones are available. You may bring snacks and cooked food and drinks but it’s always best to cook it at the area and have your boat ride helpers do it for you so you can share a good lunch or breakfast with them. There is a convenient store in Anawangin but prices are a bit higher. For consideration, please make sure you have everything before proceeding to ride your boats.

Camping in Anawangin

A visit to the cove, if planned for the day, is advised to be made in the morning. It is ensured by leaving before 7 AM that there will be enough time to enjoy a beach swim upon arrival without the risk of getting sunburned.

Camping is the most popular activity in Anawangin as seen in the photos below. You can either bring a tent or rent one ahead of time when you book a boat at the port. It’s advice bringing your own as these tents can be re-used many times as long as they are taken good care of. Stargazing at night while hearing on the waves of the ocean is something that most people admire about this place. It gets connects you to nature and will surely wash all your troubles and stress away for a moment that is worth remembering.

  • There is no phone signal in the area.
  • Bring enough food and water for everyone.
  • There are convenient stores near the port.
  • Wear the provided life vest while traveling by boat.
  • Put on sunscreen to avoid sunburn even on the boat.
  • Ensure your valuables are in waterproof bags.
  • Sign the manifest at the port prior to leaving.
